The weekly men’s group that I’m a part of has recently decided to study the book of Revelations… This is very interesting as about half the group have only been following Jesus for about two years. Yet, they are willing and ready to tackle one of the “hardest” books of the Bible. [...] This morning was début of the "Ardell Family Band". Mainly, both the keyboardist and lead guitarist were gone this week – so Em and I had to pony up and lead worship. It was pretty cool acutally as I have been practicing on my 6-string at lot recently as I have been [...] The 2003 movie “Ned Kelly” starting Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom tells the story of the Australian outlaw and folk hero Ned Kelly (hence the movie name…) Ned Kelly was a young man born to Irish immigrants – well, actually his father was sent to Australian by the British for various crimes committed in [...] This has been the toughest books I have read over the past year. Tough – not because of the reading level – but tough because the content forces you to rethink and test what you have been taught about death, heaven, and live beyond the grave. I first picked up this book a [...] Shingles, wood, tar, sky light. Now put a hole in it and add some rain. That has been my life these last few months. But no more!! The roof is still there – as is the shingles, wood, tar, and sky light – but the hole has been repaired and the rain is [...] I took this picture a few miles north of my home in the foothills of mountains where the sage brush desert meets the pine trees of the high country. Every time I look at this picture I lose my breath as I imagine the gentle touch of the cool mountain wind drifting up [...] I was listening to the radio the other day when this song came on that really grabbed my attention. No – it wasn’t the music licks or the bass notes. What really hit me was the words being sung. The song was “Funny The Way It Is” by the Dave Matthew Band. I was reading Ken Wilson's blog today and was struck by his post about the comment phrase "love the sinner, hate the sin?" Take a look at the post – it will be worth your time.
